The Imilla Negra potato variety's experimental work, focusing on weed control and hilling, is being conducted by INIA's Ilpa Agrarian Experimental Station in Puno region's experimental fields. This initiative aims to increase the availability of high-quality basic and pre-basic seeds, which will help farmers enhance the quality and market competitiveness of their potato crops. The work is carried out in INIA's seed fields, with participation from local farmers who are trained in crop care techniques. The Imilla Negra variety is noted for its high yield, pest and disease resistance, adaptability to various climates, and high nutrient levels.
