Researchers at INTA Bordenave in Buenos Aires have developed two new oat varieties, Sofía INTA and Elena INTA, which are expected to be available in the next campaign. These varieties are designed to be resistant to leaf rust, a disease that significantly reduces yield and quality, without requiring fungicides. Both varieties are highly productive and recommended for different regions within the Pampean region. These new oats will be marketed under technological linkage agreements with Baya Casal and its multiplier network, with emphasis on the importance of using legal and controlled seed for optimal production.
