The Ministry of Agriculture has reminded farmers that intermediate crops, which can include a variety of cereals and non-cereals, should be sown by September 1 and checked between September 1 and November 1. To receive green direct payments, farmers are encouraged to diversify their crops, maintain permanent grassland, and have an ecologically oriented area. Intermediate crops, which are grown between main crops, must not be available in the field after April 15 of the year following the year of application, and there is a ban on the application of plant protection products for areas where intermediate crops are used as ecologically oriented areas.
