International corn dynamics: Myanmar is vigorously exporting and Argentina will reduce cultivation

The Global New Light of Myanmar reported that according to statistics from the Myanmar Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar exported more than 1 million metric tons of corn in the first quarter of this fiscal year (April 2024 to March 2025), worth more than 265 million US dollars. As the main importer of Myanmar corn, Thailand has zero tariffs on imported corn from Myanmar from February 1 to August 31. The Myanmar Corn Industry Association said that Myanmar’s corn traders are working hard to deliver corn by August. Corn via China and Thailand are the main importers of Myanmar corn in terms of sea transportation and border export to the international market, and India's demand for Myanmar corn has also increased relatively sharply. Strong demand has pushed up planting in Shan State, Kachin State, Kayah State, Karen State, as well as Mandalay, Sagaing and Mawei Provinces.
