In the Iranian calendar year ending March 19, 2024, Iran achieved a significant milestone in its agricultural exports by shipping over 389,000 tons of fresh dates, worth more than $345 million, to 82 countries worldwide. This represents a growth of 4.0% in quantity and 6.7% in value compared to the previous year. India emerged as the largest market for these exports, followed by Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, Iraq, and Russia, with Mazafati dates being the most sought-after variety. The wide range of importing countries, including Austria, Jordan, and Argentina, underscores Iran's status as the third-largest producer of fresh dates on the global stage.
