On September 16, Iran’s State Agency for Livestock Feed Imports (SLAL) held a tender for 120,000 tons of feed corn, 120,000 tons of feed barley, and 120,000 tons of soybean meal, according to the Grain On-Line news agency, citing European traders. In fact, 180,000 tons of feed corn were purchased (three batches of 60,000 tons each) at a price of 235 euros ($278.5) per ton. The barley and meal purchases were not completed. According to the tender terms, the corn will be shipped in October-November. It may be of Brazilian, European, Black Sea, Russian, Ukrainian, or Turkish origin.
