Iran is a significant exporter of agricultural products, exporting nearly 3 million tons to over 100 countries annually, while also meeting domestic demand for fruits. The country has approximately 3 million hectares of orchards, producing around 26 million tons of horticultural products annually. Despite this, Iran remains reliant on imports for four tropical fruits: banana, pineapple, coconut, and mango, as domestic production does not meet demand for these items. The country also stands out for its low use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
