At the Damghan National Pistachio Festival, Dr. Gholamreza Nouri Qazaljeh, the Minister of Agricultural Jihad, highlighted Iran's potential to generate $1 billion from pistachio exports by enhancing production, breeding new cultivars, and implementing modern irrigation systems. He also acknowledged the increase in pistachio harvest from Damghan and the country's achievement of self-sufficiency in wheat and other agricultural products. The Minister emphasized the need to solve the country's energy issues and announced plans to provide subsidized fertilizer to gardeners, promoting the improvement of gardens and reducing water consumption through scientific agriculture. The Minister also stressed the need for support for farmers and consumers and outlined plans for insuring agricultural products and providing special credit arrangements for villagers, nomads, and those in the agriculture and animal husbandry sector in the next year's budget.
