It's official: Brazil confirmed it will investigate shipments of powdered milk from Argentina and Uruguay for alleged dumping

In the Federal Journal of the Union, the Brazilian equivalent of the Argentine Official Gazette, dated December 10, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services of Brazil, indicated that it has “sufficient elements that indicate the practice of dumping in the exports of powdered milk from Argentina and Uruguay to Brazil,” understanding it as “damage to the domestic industry.” Thus, the agency warns, in an official communication that has already been received in the two countries targeted for this type of unfair competition, that it will “begin an investigation to determine the existence of dumping in the exports from Argentina and Uruguay to Brazil of whole and skimmed milk powder, without fractionation,” detailing the Mercosur nomenclatures that cover these products.
