Jeollabuk-do announced that in commemoration of the 30th Marine Day (May 31st), it recently conducted a joint public-private coastal cleanup activity in the Saemangeum First Seawall area to reaffirm the preciousness of the marine environment (photo). This cleanup activity was prepared in accordance with discussions from the 'Jeollabuk-do Marine Waste Public-Private Council' held in March, jointly led by Jeollabuk-do, Gunsan Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, Buan-gun, and Buan Marine Police Station. Additionally, around 200 people, including 17 organizations and institutions such as the Saemangeum Reclamation Museum, Marine Environment Corporation, Saemangeum Development Corporation, Korea Fisheries Resources Corporation, Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, and Buan Fisheries Cooperative, voluntarily participated, adding further meaning to the event.
