The Jeonnam Provincial Institute of Ocean Science and Technology has announced that due to higher than average water temperatures, the optimal time for seaweed seedlings will be delayed to late September to early October. The water temperature in the Jeonnam sea area is expected to be 2-4℃ higher, affecting the period when temperatures drop below 23℃ and 22℃ for different seaweed types. To ensure stable seedlings and prevent damage, the institute will operate regional consultation centers and provide real-time water temperature and nutrient analysis. Director Kim Chung-nam stressed the importance of monitoring real-time data and harvesting at the optimal time, while promising ongoing guidance and technical support for fishermen.
