Peru: Hailstorm affected 70 hectares of crops in Apata and Masma Chicche

The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín reports that the hailstorm of January 9 has had a significant impact on 70 hectares of crops that include potatoes, broad beans, olluco and corn in the districts of Apata and Masma Chicche, located in the province of Jauja. The agricultural brigade of the Jauja Agrarian Agency has confirmed that this inclement weather has affected 105 producers in both districts. It was detailed that, in the sectors of Nueva Esperanza, AlHuanyacu, San José and Miravalle in the district of Apata, the hailstorm has damaged 25 hectares of potato, broad bean, olluco and corn crops, affecting a total of 70 farmers.
