(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Sang-yong = Kakao[035720] announced on the 9th that its location-based life platform KakaoMap has launched indoor map services for major agricultural and marine product markets in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions. This update was made to help users find their desired stores and convenience facilities quickly without getting lost in the complex markets in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday. The indoor maps are applied to over ten major markets in the metropolitan area, including Seoul Garak Mall (retail area within Garak Market), Gyeongdong Market, Yaknyeong Market, Dongseo and Cheonggwa Fruit Markets, and Gyeonggi Guri Agricultural and Marine Products Market. Kakao has implemented the locations of each store and various convenience facilities such as elevators, escalators, and restrooms in the app, matching them to actual blueprints. Users can view detailed floor information at a glance by searching for the respective markets on the KakaoMap mobile app. By tapping on the store icon, users can also check store information, photos, and reviews. Bang Gyeong-hwa, the leader of the Kakao Map Data Platform Tribe, said, "In the future, we plan to continuously introduce indoor maps to various cultural spaces such as shopping malls, markets, exhibitions, and performance venues."
