Kazakh breeders presented a new variety of alfalfa - “Karabalyk Pearl”

Breeders from the Karabalyk Agricultural Experiment Station have developed a new variety of alfalfa called “Karabalyk Pearl”. It was developed as a result of many years of research and will allow farmers to significantly increase productivity and resistance to adverse climatic conditions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to information, the variety was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties “Slavyanskaya” and “Karabalykskaya 18”. It belongs to the mid-season category, with a growing season before flowering of only 64 days, and full economic ripeness of the seeds is achieved after 107 days.
