Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Ermek Kenjekhanuly, concluded a successful visit to Iran, where he opened a Kazakhstani trade and economic mission and engaged in discussions with Iranian officials. The talks resulted in a significant increase in the agricultural trade between the two nations, which is expected to reach $220.1 million by 2024, marking a 33.2% increase from the previous year. The Vice Minister's negotiations covered several key areas, including the expansion of Kazakh agricultural exports to Iran, such as grain, meat products, vegetable oils, and confectionery, as well as the creation of joint ventures and the transit of agricultural products through Iran to the Persian Gulf countries. Additionally, the visit saw the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between JSC NC Food Contract Corporation and Fawakeh Trading Company (Iran) and discussions on water-saving agriculture, fish farming, and logistics improvements for exporting Kazakh agricultural products. The outcomes of these discussions will be further explored through the Intergovernmental Commission and the Working Group on Agriculture.
