The quota allows importing up to 150,000 tons of potatoes into the republic
The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved doubling the quota for duty-free potato imports into Kazakhstan and Russia. Specifically, a tariff benefit was provided for importing up to 150,000 tons of potatoes into Kazakhstan before the new harvest collection. The tariff benefit volume for potatoes for Russia was also increased to 150,000 tons with a deadline of July 31, 2025. This was reported in the commission's press release.
"The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to provide a tariff benefit in the form of exemption from import customs duty for potatoes (code 0701 90 of the EAEU Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity), imported in a volume of no more than 150,000 tons into the Republic of Kazakhstan by June 30, 2025, and intended for retail sale. Moreover, the volume of the tariff benefit for potatoes intended for use in food production or retail sale in the Russian Federation was increased to 150,000 tons with a deadline of July 31, 2025..."
