The Ministry of Agriculture in Kazakhstan is actively working towards expanding the export of livestock products, particularly horse meat, to the EU, with the country being in the final stage of obtaining all necessary license documents for this purpose. The Ministry has also reached an agreement with Turkey on the veterinary and sanitary requirements for beef exports, with the response from the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry awaited. Kazakhstan's national beef production is on the rise, with a 7.5% increase in 2024 and a continued growth trend in 2025.
