[Korea Farmers' Newspaper, Reporter Lee Jang-hee] A young entrepreneur is generating high income by year-round producing 'bujiggaengi' (wild edible spring greens), one of Korea's representative wild vegetables, in a smart farm facility. Kim Tae-kyung (40), representative of 'Dason Farm' in Baekseok-eup, Yangju City, is the protagonist. In the recently visited 23,100㎡ (7,000 pyeong) facility with 44 greenhouses across 5 farms in Baekseok-eup and Gwangjuk-myeon, fresh seedlings and bujiggaengi greens ready for harvest are growing simultaneously. While it was somewhat surprising to see bujiggaengi, which typically grows in mountain areas or open fields, being cultivated in a cutting-edge smart farm facility, one wonders about its investment-to-value efficiency.
