Turkey: Kiwi harvest started in Trabzon

Kiwi harvest has begun in the Geyikli neighborhood of the Şalpazarı district of Trabzon, which is located on the skirts of Sis Mountain, the closest mountain to the coast with an altitude of 2,182 meters in the Black Sea Region. Producers who started to enter the gardens to collect kiwis grown as an alternative product to hazelnuts in the Şalpazarı district expressed that they were pleased with the harvest this year. Retired teacher Abidin Şengül, who lives in the Geyikli neighborhood, said that they were producing kiwis in their neighborhood with an altitude of 1,600 meters.
