The Indonesian government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Guangdong Evergreen Group, a company from China, to collaborate on developing integrated shrimp farming in the country. The collaboration aims to increase national production and expand the reach of the shrimp market from Indonesia, while also implementing sustainable aquaculture as part of the blue economy program. The development of integrated shrimp cultivation will begin in East Sumba Regency, with plans to utilize a land area of 1,800 hectares.
