[Korea Agricultural and Fishery Newspaper, Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] The Korea Rural Community Corporation (President Kim In-jung) is pushing forward with a 'preemptive response to green algae' to ensure clean agricultural water supply. Following the brief rainy season and subsequent heat wave, water temperatures have risen, increasing the likelihood of green algae occurrence. In particular, there are high concerns that agricultural reservoirs, where water flow is often stagnant, could lead to rapid green algae proliferation. In response, the Rural Community Corporation has designated a green algae surveillance reinforcement period (June-August) and is conducting on-site monitoring more than twice a month for 354 agricultural reservoirs nationwide. Additionally, for 90 key reservoirs, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors have been installed to monitor water temperature, turbidity, and pollution levels in real-time
