Korean seaweed is sold in the Vietnamese market

As seaweed is recognized as a health food among Vietnamese, Korean dried seaweed and seasoned seaweed are gaining popularity. According to the Vietnamese edible seaweed market trend recently released by the Korea Trade Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Among local consumers, seaweed is recognized as one of Korea's health foods, and demand is increasing. The major countries from which Vietnam imports seaweed include Korea, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, and Tanzania. Among these, the share of Korean edible seaweed exceeds about 40% as of 2020. Korea has maintained its position as the No. 1 importer in the Vietnamese edible seaweed import market for five consecutive years. Last year, imports of Korean seaweed increased by 89.5% compared to the previous year, accounting for half of all imports.
