The Sheep Product Council has forecasted a rise in lamb prices for Easter due to a decrease in supply, attributed to postponed fall breeding because of drought and an early Easter. Domestic consumption of lamb has been on a decline, and the industry faces challenges such as fodder and labor shortages. Despite these challenges, the council anticipates that the amount of meat exported will remain stable, with Italy continuing to be the main buyer. The council is planning consumption promotion days, hoping to reach thousands of consumers in Hungary with their 3-year EU support program.
