In 2020, Ukraine saw a significant increase in seed exports to the EU, with over 795.4 tons of corn, wheat, barley, rapeseed, soybean, and sunflower seeds exported, valued at $3.1 million. This represents a 2.7-fold increase from the previous year. Romania was the largest importer of these seeds. The year also marked the EU's recognition of the equivalence of Ukrainian cereal, sorghum, and corn seeds. The doubling of foreign exchange earnings from seed exports is seen as a positive development, indicating successful market entry and underscoring the need for continued legislative improvements in seed production and nursery activities.
