In 2020, Ukrainian agricultural exports to the European Union fell by 10.7% to $6.7 billion due to COVID-19 restrictions and a bird flu-related ban on Ukrainian chicken. The ban impacted the sales of all major export items, except sunflower oil. The EU is the primary market for a number of Ukrainian agri-food products, including fish, egg products, honey, fruits, and rapeseed. Ukraine exhausted quotas for duty-free supplies of several products to the EU, but the quota for wheat and butter could not be closed.
