In 2020, Ukraine achieved a record in agricultural exports, with the sector reaching a value of $22,391 million, surpassing the previous year's record of $22,350. The growth was primarily driven by a significant increase in exports to Asia, which reached a peak during Ukraine's independence, growing by 16% from the previous year to $10.9 billion. Asia accounted for nearly half (48.7%) of total Ukrainian agricultural exports. However, exports to the European Union, Africa, and the CIS countries decreased by almost 11%, 12%, and 13.3% respectively. China emerged as the leading consumer of Ukrainian agricultural products, followed by India, the Netherlands, Egypt, Turkey, Spain, Poland, Italy, and Germany. Indonesia entered the top 10 list of importers for the first time, buying Ukrainian agricultural products for $566 million. The key products exported included cereals, oilseeds, various oils, residues and waste, meat, and offal, accounting for over 85% of the value.
