In the first half of 2022, Spain experienced a 21% increase in agricultural imports, totaling US$ 8,086 million, with its main suppliers being France, Morocco, and the United States. Despite a 3% decrease in exports, Peru remained a significant supplier, with avocado and asparagus being the most purchased products. However, the volume and value of these exports decreased by 8% and 16% respectively compared to the previous year, leading to a price decrease for avocado and a slight increase for asparagas. This shift in export volume to the United States has impacted the pricing and volume of Peruvian agricultural exports to Europe.
