Lima Expresa, a subsidiary of VINCI Highways and concessionaire of the Vía de Evitamiento and the Línea Amarilla express route, is participating this year in the Tahuamanu Amazon REDD+ Project, a forest conservation program located in Madre de Dios. The concessionaire has contributed to the protection of an area of over 169,000 hectares of Amazon forests against unplanned deforestation, safeguarding the habitat of endangered species such as the maquisapa monkey and the taricaya. Since 2018, aligned with VINCI Highways' environmental commitment, Lima Expresa has implemented its environmental action plan to reduce its CO2eq emissions. Among the initiatives are the installation of photovoltaic systems at toll plazas, the electrification of its operational fleet, and the Gran Túnel Lima Expresa operates with 100% renewable energy.
