In August, the Statistics Authority reported a mixed trend in the prices of goods and services, with 72 items becoming cheaper and 93 becoming more expensive. Notable price increases were seen in local grapes (up 21.51% year-on-year) and frying oil (up 18.99%). On the other hand, Egyptian navel oranges and cardamom experienced significant price drops (down 20.35% and 15.26% respectively). The cost of construction commodities also saw changes, with 33 items becoming more expensive and 5 less so when compared to the previous year. Lastly, the prices of all types of feed and live animals also increased compared to the same period of the previous year.
