During his visit to China from July 8-12, 2024, Malaysia's Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister, Datuk Chan Foong Hin, secured over RM230 million in palm oil trade deals. These deals were finalized through four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with Chinese companies, covering tocotrienol exports, expanding digital market access, crude palm oil trade, and the use of red palm oil in animal feed. The agreements aim to diversify palm oil product trade into new sectors, including e-commerce and health products, and emphasize the importance of high-quality and sustainable production. The value of these trade deals is anticipated to grow in the future, following a successful business matching session between Malaysian and Chinese enterprises.
