Malaysian Minister of Agriculture, Johari Abdul Ghani, has revealed a strategic plan to manufacture and export palm oil from Egypt during the Malaysian Palm Oil Egypt 2024 Forum. The plan aims to transform Egypt into a manufacturing hub for Malaysian oil, with discussions underway to implement the plan. Malaysia's palm oil exports were valued at $22 billion, with the industry contributing 3% to the domestic product. The country is the world's second-largest palm oil producer, accounting for 32% of global production. The Malaysian government is focusing on sustainable production principles and is using the Malaysian Palm Oil Forum to promote trade, explore cooperation opportunities, and introduce higher value products in Egypt and North Africa.
