In April, Malaysia experienced a notable increase in its palm oil industry's performance, as reported by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). Highlights include a 9.62% rise in exports, reaching 1.10 million tonnes, and a significant 21.52% increase in crude palm oil (CPO) production to 1.69 million tonnes. Palm kernel production also saw an increase of 21.42% to 409,000 tonnes. Furthermore, there was a substantial growth in stocks, with CPO stocks rising by 34.83% to 1.05 million tonnes and refined palm oil stocks increasing by 3.99% to 814,000 tonnes. Exports of palm kernel oil, palm kernel cake, and oleochemicals also saw significant increases. Meanwhile, the US Department of Agriculture has updated its soybean use in biofuel production projections for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.
