By: Francisco Seva Rivadulla, international agro-food journalist (Agraria.pe) The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the first handlers and importers of mangoes have voted in favor of continuing the research and promotion program of the National ManGo Board -NMB (National Mango Board). In the referendum held between October 22 and November 12, 2025, 94.12% of the first handlers and importers of mangoes voted in favor of continuing the program. This meets the requirement that a majority vote in favor of the program for it to continue. The first handlers or importers who handled or imported 500,000 pounds or more of fresh mangoes during the representative period, from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, were eligible to vote in the referendum.
