MAPA is committed to promoting the cultivation of industrial hemp in Spain

The Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, Begoña García, has reflected the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) with the cultivation of hemp in Spain, during her speech at the presentation of the Industrial Hemp Cluster that was held this Wednesday in Madrid. The Secretary of State has highlighted that this type of crop "is presented as an interesting alternative, because it adapts perfectly to the agro-climatic conditions of our country, and because of its positive environmental implications." Among these, he has pointed out that it prevents soil erosion and has rapid growth and a short productive cycle that reduce competition with weeds.
