The Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MRiRW) has highlighted the challenges faced by the country's beef industry in staying competitive in international markets. Despite the growth in beef exports in 2024, the sector is grappling with EU environmental and quality standards, trade liberalization, and competition from third-country exporters who may not meet these standards. The rise of plant-based meat alternatives is another challenge. In spite of these hurdles, Poland's beef industry, which is the most stable among meat markets in the country, has found favor in EU and third countries' markets, including China and Vietnam. The industry relies heavily on exports, with Turkey being a significant market, and operates out of approximately 270,000 farms.
