Polish government officials, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak, are discussing ways to improve the export of Polish potatoes. The talks with PIORiN focus on streamlining procedures and making the export process more exporter-friendly. The ministry is responding to growing interest in Polish potatoes, with the main recipients being EU member states like Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Germany, as well as distant markets like Egypt and Turkey. The meetings also covered potential improvements in handling exports, especially from counties with few ring rot outbreaks, and discussed legislative changes to recognize farms as ring rot-free and reduce testing fees for potato tubers intended for planting.
