Matrouh's Governor, Major General Khaled Shoeib, announced a initiative by the Ministry of Agriculture to provide subsidized barley seeds to farmers, with 35 tons already delivered and 215 tons more expected, at half price each. The goal is to cultivate 200,000 acres of barley. Additionally, a shipment of wheat seeds, also at half price, will be available for 10,000 acres of rain-fed wheat. Farmers will need to apply through their local agricultural association to access these subsidized seeds.
