Live pig purchase prices On 12–18.08.2024, in plants monitored by the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, pigs were purchased at PLN 6.86/kg, which is 2.5% cheaper than a week ago and 4% cheaper than a month earlier. Compared to the quotations from a year ago, the price of live pigs was 15% lower. The same direction of changes in live pig prices as in Poland is also observed in the EU. In the third week of August this year, the purchase price of class E slaughter pigs was EUR 207.66/100 kg of chilled post-slaughter weight. It was 1.4% lower than in the previous week, 3% lower than a month ago and 12% lower than a year ago. The price of livestock of this class in Poland expressed in euros amounted to EUR 208.69/100 kg, 0.5% more than in the EU and, among others, 19% more than in Denmark.
