Since the end of January 2024, the purchase prices of live pigs in the EU, including Poland, have seen an increase. The average EU purchase price for class E slaughter pigs rose by 2% from the previous week and 5% from a month ago, reaching EUR 211.37/100 kg of chilled slaughter mass. Poland's price was even higher at EUR 219.20/100 kg. This rise in livestock prices has also led to an increase in pork sales prices. Meanwhile, live beef prices remained stable, live poultry prices increased, but the prices of gutted chicken carcasses fell by about 4%.
