The 2019 Agri-Food Atlas by Mexico's Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development highlights a dip in overall agricultural production due to weather conditions, but a rise in fruit and vegetable production. Mexico, a major producer and exporter of avocados, blackberries, and other fruits, ranked eighth in global food exports in 2019, achieving a surplus in food product trade balance for the past 25 years. The United States, Japan, and Canada are the primary recipients of these exports. There has been a significant increase in the export value of various fresh products, especially avocados, red fruits, green chilies, and pecans, over the past decade.
