Mexico and the United States have signed a letter of intent to develop a plan for the electronic certification of meat products traded between the two nations. The goal is to reduce paper usage, adopt digital tools, and enhance the integrity, efficiency, and authenticity of export certificates for various meat products. This initiative is expected to increase security in import and export processes, safeguard agricultural and livestock health, and protect consumer health. The United States represents over 80% of Mexico's total food exports.
