The meat and food industry presents a variety of job opportunities for zootechnician veterinarians (MVZ), according to Dr. Hugo Fragoso Sánchez, executive president of the National Association of TIF Establishments (Anetif). Anetif, which represents 136 meat establishments, requires MVZ for their operation across different segments such as slaughterhouses, cutting and boning rooms, processing plants, cold chambers, and distribution centers. MVZs play a crucial role in inspecting carcasses for diseases, ensuring animal welfare, and preventing meat contamination. Their responsibility also includes verifying the quality of products and signing the zoosanitary certificate, ensuring compliance with standards for public health and international exports.
