In 2020, Peruvian garlic exports saw a 1% decrease in volume but a 51% increase in value, totaling 11,894 tons and US $ 26.3 million. Mexico became the primary market, importing 7,140 tons for US $ 18 million, marking an 81% increase in volume and 185% increase in value from the previous year. The average export price per kilogram was US $ 2.21, a 52% increase from the previous year, with Mexico paying the highest price at US $ 2.56 per kilogram. There was also a growth in markets such as France, with a 175% increase in Peruvian garlic exports.
