Milk deliveries have remained stable in the first quarter worldwide

Milk deliveries in the EU have been growing since February. In April they increased 0.6%, a percentage almost as high as in March. Deliveries increased in Poland (+5%) and also somewhat in Germany. In Spain they increased by 1.1%. France no longer showed growth in April, after the increase in the previous months. The sharp decline continued in Ireland (-8%). Overall, EU milk supplies increased by 1.1% until April 2024. The outlook among the other globally important dairy exporting countries remained predominantly negative in April: Only Australia achieved sustained growth (+3%). In the United States, milk production decreased slightly. New Zealand also recorded another decline (-4%). Argentina's milk production continues to contract significantly (-16%). The supply of milk in Uruguay also fell sharply in April (-7%).
