Heavy rains in Brazil have delayed the harvest of the first grain crop, but the second corn crop is estimated to be one of the biggest in recent years. Despite increased production costs, producers are investing in crops using good seeds, fertilizers, and technology. The no-tillage system is being used, which is beneficial for the soil and water. The area under corn and soybean production is increasing in Minas Gerais, particularly in areas with degraded pasture land. The summer crop is expected to reach 5.8 million tons of corn and 7.9 million tons of soy.
