Thailand: Ministry of Agriculture accelerates comprehensive livestock assistance

On December 1, 2024, Mr. Anukul Prueksanusak, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed the progress of livestock assistance for farmers in the South who were affected by the floods, stating that the Department of Livestock Development has provided immediate assistance as follows: 1. Distributing 134,240 kilograms of animal feed; 2. Evacuating 207,793 animals; 3. Supporting 268 animal health promotion kits (minerals/antibiotics/vitamins); 4. Treating 701 animals; 5. Providing 158 animal survival bags. In addition, relevant agencies will urgently survey the damage caused by the floods and provide relief in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s regulations on government reserve funds for emergency disaster relief in 2019, as well as planning for rehabilitation after the floods recede, so that farmers can return to their normal occupations and incomes as soon as possible.
