The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia assures the public that the country has a sufficient beef and buffalo stock to meet the expected demand of 696,956 tons per year. This is despite an anticipated increase in demand and a beef deficit of 223,142 tons. The ministry plans to import feeder cattle, beef, and buffalo to make up for the shortage. Domestic production is expected to rise, and there is carry-over meat from the previous year. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade are in charge of pricing and have assured that the meat will be available for Eid 2021.
