The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture's Directorate General of Plantations has issued technical recommendations for the Community Palm Oil Rejuvenation (PSR) program in South Kalimantan, covering 5,989 hectares for 3,089 oil palm planters. Since 2017, the Ministry has issued similar recommendations for 337,647 hectares for 150,770 planters nationwide. The PSR program aims to boost palm oil productivity and quality by replacing unproductive plants with quality seeds and implementing Good Agriculture Practices (GAP). It also provides planters with funding through the oil palm plantation fund management body (BPDP-KS) for activities related to rejuvenation, facilities and infrastructure, research, and development of human resources for oil palm plantations. The Ministry is encouraging collaboration between palm oil companies and planters to improve partnerships and create a healthy business climate in the sector.
