The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea has announced new regulations for the import of poultry meat, particularly from Lithuania. The regulations stipulate that the poultry meat must be hatched and raised in Lithuania, meet Korean standards for hygiene and pathogens, and the slaughterhouses where the poultry is processed must be sanitized. The operators of these slaughterhouses must also run a food safety management program and maintain records of ingredient and shipping management for over two years. Additionally, only institutions certified by the Korean government can conduct inspections on the imported chicken. This move is part of the Ministry's efforts to ensure the safety of livestock products.
