A new camel milk processing plant is going to be inaugurated in Umnugovi province, southern Mongolia, with the aim of assisting local camel herders in improving milk processing and increasing milk yields. The project is a part of the Mongol Temee (Mongolian Camel) project, a collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which has seen success in boosting milk yield from camels from 3 liters to 800 grams per day. The company behind the project, Solid, plans to expand this achievement to 4 liters and enhance farmers' production capabilities through comprehensive training and consulting. The province is home to around half a million camels, and the products are currently distributed locally. The long-term goal is to meet export standards to expand market reach.
